Renaissance Star Assessment

(Progress Monitoring assessment tool used in the Diocese of Monterey)

Renaissance Star Assessments are used to monitor individual student learning in early literacy, reading, and mathematics at Old Mission School. The Star Assessments for Early Literacy, Reading, and Math are administered school-wide a minimum of three times during the academic year. However, Star assessments may be used more often as needed to determine a student's individual learning needs. These computer adaptive assessments are easy and quick to administer and results are available as soon as the student finishes the testing.

Data from the assessments is used by faculty at Old Mission School to monitor student growth, inform instructional practices, and determine the best course of action to ensure all OMS students are mastering grade level standards. Parent reports are provided periodically throughout the school year.
